Hi, I purchased the PPC version of Suse 7.3 tried to install it on a Powerbook Wallstreet G3 and I have difficulties for the generation of the XF86Config file. The system generates a wrong XF86Config file that doesn't work. I had this problem earlier on my version of LinuxPPC and solved it with a config file tuned by someone a long time ago. This doesn't seem to work anymore. I used some kernel arguments in Bootx like video=atyfb:vmode=14,cmode=32:mclk=83 and tweaked the XF86Config file as I could but no way... Does someone have a solution ? Do you really need cmode and mclk? There are some Powerbooks where the kernel doesnt not switch to 1024x768 or 800x600. You need either "video=atyfb:vmode:14" for 1024x768 or vmode:10 for 800x600. Run "fbset -a -depth 8 ; sax2 -a". I have one report where that did not work for some reason. Use "sax2 -m 0=fbdev" to use the fbdev driver instead of the ati driver. The depth 32, 24 and 16 may not work correctly, use depth 15. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
