Hi Shawn, This might not be what you _want_ to do, but it is almost certainly the best solution for your booting trouble. Forget SUSE's default method of booting and set up yaboot with ybin and a bootstrap partition. This method is by far the cleanest and simplest way to boot into linux, and multiple operating systems for Linux on PPC. It will mean a complete overhaul of your partition table and you will have to back up and reinstall any operating systems you use, but in the long run, it is really worth it. You can find the info here: http://penguinppc.org/usr/ Read and follow the macfdisk instructions, then the yaboot FAQ and the ybin instructions. Follow them to the letter and it will be OK. do you use the lxppc yaboot binary? That one is broken on the August 2000 and newer machines. Use the binary from our CD or configure lilo properly.

lilo is only a frontend for the various bootloaders on ppc. It configures yaboot.conf and copy the needed files to the boot partition.
