Hi all, occasionally when I shutdown linux the halt process hangs right after the "turning off swap" message appears.. the process just stops there with a blinking cursor. This does not happen all the time though I can't see any particular pattern occuring. I'm using Suse 7.0 ppc on a blue & white G3. many thanks, -- - ____________________________ - Jonathon Wallen - B,DES College of Fine Arts, UNSW - z2213441@student.unsw.edu.au - jwal707@cse.unsw.edu.au - jonathon@fridge.unsw.edu.au - ____________________________

Do you have scsi or ide drives? The IDE controller in those macs is broken and the 2.2.16 cant cope very well with it. 2.2.18 or 2.4.2 might help. Maybe the swapoff just takes a bit longer? How much ram and swap do you have? Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
