Hi, Sorry if this is a stupid question - I am really not a hardware guy :-) Yesterday I realised, that my TiBook cannot export the screen to a beamer through the monitor output. I am using SuSE 7.3 with kernel 2.4.16 - because with the original kernel I had no X. On my old Toshiba-Laptop I never encountered any problems with the connection of a beamer to the monitor output, so I didn't care for this until now: I will need the new Laptop soon for presentation - so any help would be very welcomed by Bernd

Hi Bernd If you by a "beamer" mean a projector-gizmo, that can project your screen on a wall (or something like that), have a look at: /usr/share/doc/packages/pmud/README.m3mirror Don't know about the TiBook, but it worked beatifully for me on a PowerBook Pismo, SusE 7.3PPC, Linux 2.4.12. Nice and easy. -j -- Josephine Obel i DRs "Profilen" tirsdag d. 9.04.02 kl. 21:25

Thanks, Janus and Christoph, I tried Ben's m3mirror with an external monitor and the beamer (yes, the projector), but it didn't work. Maybe I should upgrade to a newer kernel for better support of the graphic (at the moment I have 2.4.16), but I hesitate to "change a running system" :-) At the moment it's not that urgent at all, so I'll probably wait a while - any ideas, when SuSE 8.0 for PPC will be out? Bernd

Salut Bernd, the kernel command line? jops, Christoph. -- Anything that is good and useful is made of chocolate.
