Dear all, just installed Suse 7.1 an my PB G3 266 and some issues have come up (sigh) - the 2.4.2 Kernel won't really work even when I use the "No video driver" setting in BootX, X has problems with the display, the graphics looks dithered and hardly readable when the systems starts X using the default setting ("No video driver" unchecked) produces 4 split up start-up screens - under 2.2.18 /lib/modules/2.2.18/pcmcia is missing:-( so loading during booting fails - can I used power management (under those kernels?) - can I used a "normal" WLAN Card (Lucent) with the airport module??? Thanks in advance Cheers, Christian p.s 7.1 feels much better then 6.4 which I used before!

What screen resolution do you have? 1024x768 or 800x600? Its supposed to work, `sax2 -af` should do the right thing.

pcmcia doesnt work with suse, you have to compile it yourself for the time being. http://www.mpifr-bonn.mpg.de/div/iri/Archiv/LinuxPPC/PCMCIA.html

Its available with Bens 2.4.5-pre3 kernel. http://penguinppc.org/~benh/

I'm not sure if that works. Proably not. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...

The wavelan module works great on ppc. Send me the CONFIG_ option and it will be enabled in the future. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
Will do once I fix dead powerbook. ;-) Olaf Hering (olh@suse.de) [010606 07:29]: - > On Wed, Jun 06, Leah Cunningham wrote: - > - > > - > > - can I used a "normal" WLAN Card (Lucent) with the airport module??? - > > - > - > > - > I'm not sure if that works. I am not sure I got the original question, but do you say that it is not possible to connect a computer to LAN via Apple build-in "AirPort-card"? Last time i played with Apples "AirPort Baseatation" there was a Lucen-card inside the blue plastic... ;-) -j -- Boligløs i København siden 1.04.01 - kan du hjælpe? http://janus.dk

There is an airport.o module designed for the Apple Airport card, which is basically a hacked Wavelan driver. It has been incorporated into the Pmac trees for a bit now. - > Last time i played with Apples "AirPort Baseatation" there was a - > Lucen-card inside the blue plastic... ;-) I never looked, but that doesn't surprise me. lol I can't believe it's not UNIX!!! ------------------------------------------------------------ Leah Cunningham | PPC QA, Business Support & www.heinous.org | QA & Linux geek, et al.
