Hello, I'm using SuSE PPC on an iMac DVD SE which is close to an iBook. It works and is fast and stable. But there a minor problems with LinuxPPC in generel. The X-Server isn't accelerated and very, very slow and there is no sound, not even a single beep. Furthermore I can't operate the internal modem, it isn't recognized as device. Hope this helps. I plan on getting an Apple iBook but wouldn't if there were any unsurmountable issues concerning getting Linux PPC running on it. I had thought of SuSE 6.4 . Does any one of you have this combination running? Please be so kind to share your experiences, good or bad. TIA!

Modem works, Ethernet works with dropouts, Sound: no info about the chip, Airport: no info about the stuff. Graphicschip works since monday this week. I will post newer kernels this week, it includes also the USB backport. So you might be able to use more USB devices, please send feedback to this list.
