Hi Harald, Check out http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-pmac.html http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/CD-Distributions-EN-HOWTO/ If you ask me, I would try Debian. Note I am not a geek and some folks may argue that it is not an optimal choice for you. Let's say it is my favorite flavor, I just like Woody. It is well documented, well organized, you can burn CD's for yourself, etc. I hope it helps, Serguei --- Harald Arnold <listen@arnold.at> wrote:

I installed till with some failures under Linux SuSE V 7.3 PPC editopm on a RISC 6000 7248-100. It is running quite find.
Afterwards I inserted an IDE-HDD 80 GB. This disk is correct recognized from 80 GB size. But on system console I always get the message:
hda: interrupt lost
What can I do for solving this problem.
Install a newer kernel. You probably want a newer distribution too. SuSE has stopped producing security updates for SuSE 7.x.
I would recommend Debian or YellowDog.
Check the 7248 HOWTO at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/IBM7248-HOWTO/
What's about a Red Hat distribution, I have Enterprise V 3.0. Is this working ?
I search for such an information in internet, but didn't find it. Where can I find, which distribution is good for a model of IBM/HP/... ?
Thanks Harald
