Hello, I've got the following problem: I've got a cable modem (of a provider that doesn't give me a fix IP). Somebody told me that I can check if my network-card works by typing: ping 127.0.0.1 -> this seems to work properly. But I still can't get any connection to the internet. While starting up he writes several error messages: linux kernel: eth0 PHY ID: 0x00206047 linux kernel: eth0 WARNING! Unsupported BCM5400 PHY and while typing: rcdhclient start linux kernel: eth0 PHY reset timeout linux kernel: eth0: Can't find PHY When I try to configure the Network with YaST2 he tells me that he couldn't get any Dynamical IP. Has anybody any idea how I could solve this problem? Or where the problem could be? I've got no idea what PHY is, maybe somebody can give me a hint... With best regards Matthias Geissbuehler
