no sound and no apm

Hallo, my problem is how can i get sound and apm working on my ibook. At kernelboot it tells me the dmasound driver is loaded ! And apmd tells me there is no apm in kernel ??! And how can i change the numbers of X colors ? My kernel is an 2.2.16 with apm compiled, and booting with yaboot ! All other works fine. Thanks Harald Jülke P.S. Sorry my english.
