Package Managers for Suse PPC?

Hi all, I was just wondering if there are any package managers for SuSE 7.3 that off relatively up to date packages. I know that 7.3 uses RPMS, but my understanding is that the RPMs for SuSE at this version level were slightly different from everyone else's, which led to compiling problems. Is there any kind of package management system out there that can be used instead of the old SuSE RPM system?
