Adam Well, I solved the problem by commenting out the following line in lilo.conf: append = " quiet sysrq=1 video=ofonly" Perhaps this was added by the installer as I had to type video=ofonly when I started the installer. Of course now I don't see anything on-screen until it boots into X.
