BIG problem with SuSE 7.0 on iMac DV Special Edition

Hi, I installed SuSE 7.0 PPC on an iMac DV Special Edition. Problem is, when I shut down or restart, I get a grey screen and have to re-install EVERYTHING. Other times, I get a folder icon with a face like it's looking for MacOS. I WANT LINUX!!! :-) Someone told me the bootloader is bad. Is this fixable, and if so how?
