Hi, Unfortunately, the ppc 32 bit market is a bit splintered lately. Given the losses in market share that occurred when Mac OSX came out and was usable (and getting better with each release), and given the number of ppc linux distributions out there previously gentoo SuSE Debian YDL (Redhat has a ppc64 one hidden away for professional i/p series) Mandrake TurboLinux MontaVista (embedded - Tivo) ...and I am sure there are others... there simply can't be enough demand to keep them all alive. Some shakeout has to occur. It is simply too bad we can not organize things into 2 or 3 distributions ourselves that most ppc linux people can focus on and stop fracturing ourselves into so many camps. I, for one, am going to focus my indendent development efforts on YellowDog Linux (since they have a hardware business too), and Debian. Both of whom have active development groups doing ppc work. It is a shame that Mandrake's ppc-cooker and SuSE -ppc effort could not get linked up in some way to keep a European based PPC Linux distribution for the masses going. For the record, I am waiting for SuSE to come out with a new PPC version before I upgrade anything, because I like to keep all my systems consistent. If one does not come out soon, I will switch to a new distro that does, Debian perhaps.
I like SuSE, and I'm willing to pay for it, but having the same software on all my machines is important to me.

Does SuSE have any plans for a new PowerPC-platform release?
There will be releases, dedicated for server usage.
If you want something for the "mass market", convince the product management that there is (enough) demand for it.
