new iMacs

Hi, I just bought Suse Linux 7.1 PowerPC Edition and read in the manual my Mac is not supported because of new firmware. (I have a february 2001 iMac) (on the box it is stated it *might* not be supported) Does somebody know what this means? Will it not work at all or will it work most of the time but you can't get support if something is not working. If it will not work at all, will it be supported soon (and how, can I get a new first Suse CD to boot with a new kernel or something?) many thanks, Jaap-Jan
