CREATIVE DVD-RAM SDR-1216S
Hi I have been following the packet writing project with a lot of interest. I have a Creative DVD-RAM type RAM1216S connected to an INITO INI-940 Scsi controller card. Everything goes to plan 1) I can see scsi0 created at boot time. 2) I can see sr0 cretaed at boot time. 3) I can mount a disk formatted by UDF under windows and can read from the disk. The problem is I cant write using a udf formatted disk. Here are the logs: Aug 29 02:08:41 dt-uk-jleitch2 kernel: sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 0x/0x dvd-ram cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray root@dt-uk-jleitch2:/home/jleitch > cdrwtool -d /dev/sr0 -q using device /dev/sr0 wait_cmd: Success Command failed: 5c 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 0c 00 00 00 - You don't need packet writing to a DVD-RAM -- just access /dev/sr0 rw and you're fine. Packet writing is for cd-r/w style drives. -- Jens Axboe
