I'm having a great time with packet writing on 2.4.19, I've decided to drive it with ide-scsi and sr_mod so I can use cdrecord too. Only thing is the 1.4GHz machine gets really unresponsive during writes. I was wondering if there was a way to keep the UDF filesystem from updating the atime on files accesed while the disc is writeable. When it updates these times, I feel like I'm wearing out my disc when I read the files I've just written. Thanks, packet-writing gurus! It's a really useful patch. - Daniel Holth

If you mount the filesystem with the 'noatime' option, it should stop it from updating the access times, eg.: mount /dev/pktcdvd0 /cdrw -t udf -o noatime Stephen
