is packet writing works under 2.6.15?
Hi I'm new here! :) Recently I've got some time and decide to spend it setting up UDF tools. First I've tried package included in Debian Etch, but it didn't work for me. Later I've downloaded udftools-1.0.0b3 and tried it with and without patch from here: http://web.telia.com/~u89404340/packet.html But in both cases I'm getting same error: #pktsetup /dev/pktcdvd0 /dev/hda open packet device: No such device or address BTW here is my pktcdvd0 device file: #ls -la /dev/pktcdvd0 brw-r--r-- 1 root root 97, 0 2006-02-26 04:25 /dev/pktcdvd0 Does anyone know is there a way to fix this? I'm open to any suggestions. Thank You in advance! -- Best regards, Denis S. http://forum.weblamp.net - Webmaster Key Forums http://www.pharos-search.com - A Human Edited Directory
Denis You should be using 'pktsetup pktcdvd0 /dev/hdx' where 'x' is the burner. Mvh On Saturday 15 April 2006 22:46, Denis S wrote:

I still appreciate you help, Mvh You're probably referring to older version of udftools which had such syntax which was later changed for "pktsetup /dev/pktcdvd0 /dev/hdx" I've tried these utils as well but unfortunately they doesn't work with never kernels. Thank You! -- Best regards, Denis S. http://forum.weblamp.net - Webmaster Key Forums http://www.pharos-search.com - A Human Edited Directory gfraser@online.no wrote:

What gfraser wrote is the correct form of using newer versions of pktsetup. The man page does not clarify it well, but see the help message with: pktsetup -h Browsing this list's archives would answer many of your questions. Also, I had written a small guide about how to do packet writing. It exists at: http://www.raoul.shacknet.nu/2005/11/10/packet-writing-on-cdrw-and-dvdrw-med... I hope you find it helpful. I wrote this after spending days in order to make it work on my distribution.
Sorry Raul and GFraser, I admit that was wrong about command syntax :P Thanks a lot Raul for good HOWTO, it's really helpful. Now I had packet writing up and running. -- Best regards, Denis S. http://forum.weblamp.net/linux - Webmaster Key Forums http://www.pharos-search.com - A Human Edited Directory Raoul wrote:
