Does anyone know if it is ok to use the UDF kernel module that comes with kernel 2.4.19? Or is it recommended that I use the linux-udf kernel module instead?
As far as I know, the udf code in kernel 2.4.19 is ok to use, but not as fast as the code in the linux-udf cvs tree.
Should I compile the kernel module with write support in the kernel if I do?
Yes, if you want to write to a udf filesystem, you need write support.
Does the packet-cd 2.4.19-2 patch work with the 2.4.19 kernel or should I use the 2.4.19 patch?
Both patches work with the 2.4.19 kernel, but the -2 patch is newer. However, these patches contain udf code that I grabbed from cvs when creating the patches. You are probably better off using the most recent cvs udf code, as someone reported problems with symlinks with one of my patches. -- Peter Osterlund - petero2@telia.com http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340
