[opensuse-packaging] python 2.7.1
Hello Mates, actual we have python 2.7 checked in into the repos. Sadly the new calibre needs python 2.7.1 (atm it isn't compatible with any 3.x version). So i just would like to ask, if anyone can update this package. just out of curiosity: why does calibre need 2.7.1? there are no significant changes I have this info from: http://www.calibre-ebook.com/download_linux. Under Source Install it's written: "Make sure your system has python >= 2.7.1 not 3.x" Bit i'm confused too why that guys must use every bleeding edge... -- Sincerely Yours

let me point out that "that guy" is extremely non cooperative as far as packaging goes. According to His Holy Wisdom, either use his precompiled binary, or don't even dare to ask him for any kind of help. bye, MH -- gpg key fingerprint: 5F64 4C92 9B77 DE37 D184 C5F9 B013 44E7 27BD 763C () ascii ribbon campaign against HTML e-mail /\ www.asciiribbon.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

I have no idea either, but according to the homepage it needs Python 2.7.1 explicitly. It does not compile with 2.7. Unfortunately, Calibre is known for its "bleeding-edge" integration of several modules. This is the first time it needs a newer Python version. Not very amusing. Calibre's dependencies makes packaging much more difficult... -- Gruß/Regards, Thomas Schraitle ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH (o< Maxfeldstrasse 5 /\\ Documentation Specialist 90409 Nuernberg, Germany _\_v http://www.suse.com http://lizards.opensuse.org/author/thomas-schraitle/ SUSE LINUX GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
