[opensuse-packaging] NTFS-3G driver and openSUSE 10.3 integration
hi all ! I really would like to see full integration between openSUSE 10.3 and the new NTFS-3G driver (with good Yast support of the new driver). What do you think of it? -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

what kind of integration do you have in mind? darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

a) inclusion of NTFS-3G in the standard openSUSE DVD. b) Yast should be able to mount NTFS partitions, in RW mode by using the new driver, during openSUSE installation. Today Yast mounts Windows NTFS partition during openSUSE setup, but in RO mode, because it uses the old NTFS driver. -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

something for aj to decide.

i would still think RO is the safer way here. the new driver is better but not 100% where it should be. and to avoid dataloss i would RO mount as default. and a user can later enable RW mount. darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
OK, I have searched for bugzilla, and found a bug opened yesterday, so I just added my comment there: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=247750 Susers, please add yours too... (if you have one) :) ! -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
