[opensuse-packaging] python-ReportLab needs new maintainer
Hello, I can no longer maintain the package python-ReportLab, see http://www.reportlab.org/rl_toolkit.html I added it to the distribution only because it is an optional add-on for fax coverpages in HPLIP. Currently there is only a minor packaging issue https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500776 "whatdependson python-ReportLab" and "whatdependson -R python-ReportLab" result nothing FYI: "whatdependson" is an internal Suse/Novell tool "whatdependson package" shows build dependencies i.e. for which other packages is the package needed to build the other packages. "whatdependson -R package" shows run-time dependencies i.e. which other packages require the package to be installed so that the other packages work o.k. Hi Johannes, Based on your message I have started to build python-ReportLab-2.3 in my home project. In the buildfile I have incorporated the comments from the indicated bug. I am fine in taking the maintenance of this package over, but I do not have python knowledge so I can not solve bugs (unless packaging ones or simple ones:) ). Very Many Thanks!

Neither do I have python packaging knowledge, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500776#c3 I would very much appreciate it if you become the maintainer of python-ReportLab! Can someone of the openSUSE packaging experts explain what must be done to make Raymond Wooninck the official maintainer of python-ReportLab for openSUSE? How can I refuse so much appreciation :-) I am fine with taking this responsibility and to become the official maintainer.

For now I will build the package in my home project and await the response for the above request. Regards Raymond -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
