[opensuse-packaging] BuildRequires rpms from other repos
Good day! I need to provide python-protobuf (from protobuf in devel:tools:building) and python-ReportLab (dropped from openSUSE:Factory but availabe in openSUSE:Factory:Contrib) as BuildRequires for two packages in devel:languages:python. Should I just link these packages into devel:languages:python or add its entire repo under Build Repositories? Seems that first makes more sense to me. Well, you could merge those two packages to devel:languages:python instead and maintain them there. Linking to contrib is of course also possible. Do not add Contrib as buildrepo to devel:lang:python. protobuf also provides: libprotobuf-lite4, libprotobuf4, libprotoc4, protobuf-java, python-protobuf. I can ask the maintainer of python-ReportLab to move it to devel:languages:python, but protobuf is a more complex case. Also linking it to python repo will provide the above non python related stuff there. Thanks. On Thu, Oct 1, 2009 at 6:09 PM, Marcus Meissner <meissner@suse.de> wrote:

If a package has so many external requires, it's nothing for devel:languages:python IMO. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

No, it is not. In contrib we do not allow any links. Yes. "Linking to contrib" is ambiguous and can be understood in both directions, I wanted to make it clear. -- Best Regards / S pozdravom, Pavol RUSNAK SUSE LINUX, s.r.o openSUSE Boosters Team Lihovarska 1060/12 PGP 0xA6917144 19000 Praha 9, CR prusnak[at]suse.cz http://www.suse.cz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
