I guess the first - but I don't know, this is still discussed... Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Should mean the former IMO - it does on any other sane install of GNOME :) -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org http://usr-local-bin.org Packages for SUSE: http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms Help end poverty: http://oxfam.org.uk/imin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

It will be the former. Because of delays in submitting GNOME 2.16 to factory, we did not have enough time to change the install prefix for GNOME from /opt/gnome to /usr. The new plan is to do this shortly after openSUSE 10.2 branches off of factory. -Gary --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Speaking of which.. Rumours say that KDE will be completely dropped from the SUSE distribution rather shortly. It'd be kindof nice if you Novell/SUSE people would either kill that rumour definately, or not.. Either way, we'll know.. :) -- Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting

Can you tell me a way to to stop this rumour? We've said often enough that it will not happen... Did you read: http://www.kde.org/announcements/akademy2006-kicked-off.php Search for Novell and take that as a sign that we're interested in KDE, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

As long as novell provides those rpms; http://software.opensuse.org/download/repositories/KDE:/KDE4/SUSE_Linux_10.1... I would say that it shows that novell is interested in providing kde. (although providing is not the same as integrating).
We've said often enough that it will not happen...
Or refer at least to the rumors. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

I guess maybe a public announcement in suse-linux-e and a clearly visible info box on openSUSE.org? Really, I don't know... But the rumour and talk about it surfaces every now and then.
