[opensuse-packaging] GCC 4.4 hints for packagers
Hi: GCC 4.4 will appear sooner or later on factory, and some of your packages may fail to build. To resolve the errors you may see, read the following article http://www.cyrius.com/journal/gcc/gcc-4.4-include or see if your package is on this list http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?tag=ftbfs-gcc-4.4;users=debian-... You will probably find a patch attached in the report to fix the issue. Thanks for flying with openSUSE. -- "We have art in order not to die of the truth" - Friedrich Nietzsche Cristian Rodríguez R. In a few days we will have gcc44 in factory, _as additional package_. I.e. we don't change the default compiler right now. If you simply buildrequire gcc (or nothing at all) you will get gcc and hence gcc43, nothing changes. But for testing purposes you then (after it's in the tree) can try with the new compiler. Ciao, Michael.

Ok, thanks for the explanation, however IMHO, those packages has to be fixed anyway, because they will break, sooner or later ;-) -- "We have art in order not to die of the truth" - Friedrich Nietzsche Cristian Rodríguez R.
