[opensuse-packaging] libclaw (с++) required for games devel project
Hi to all. LibClaw is required to build some games I would like to package. (C++ Library Absolutely Wonderful is a C++ library of various utility functions. In doesn't have a particular objective but being useful to anyone.) I could send it to Factory via games or via devel:libraries:c_c++. If I choose devel:libraries:c_c++ project the link in the games project will be required. Could anybody help me to make a choice please? :) -- Dmitriy DA(P).DarkneSS Perlow / Linux x64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

D:L:C is just a dump site. If libclaw is for gaming, it should go to games. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Are such advices documented somewhere in the wiki? Would really be usefull otherwise. Philipp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

But to which page should it be added? Apparently, some people do not even find the rationale for not using %make_install, despite it being documented in two places in the suse wiki (and searchable via google). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

No wonder, the wiki search is not often that much of help: https://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&profile=default&search=%25make_install&fulltext=Search ;-/ Via google, yes. http://www.google.de/#q=site:en.opensuse.org+%25make_install Have a nice day, Berny -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

I've had packages where I used %make_install reverted by other packagers to not use it so that SLES builds would work. So I don't think it is a case of not knowing, it a case of SLES compatibility trumping what the wiki (or spec-cleaner) say. Or, to say it in a more generic way, put the library in the project where most of the programs that use it are. That way you find out what breaks on library updates before it hits Factory. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
