Re: [opensuse-packaging] Packaging Godot
Rémi Verschelde: [...]
The idea is that those thirdparty projects are not necessarily libraries per se, or at least not usually found packaged as shared or static libraries.
They're placed in the thirdparty golder because they weren't written by Godot, but for most of them they're not particularly meant to be unbundle more than Godot's own code would be.
Some of them *could* likely be turned into shared libraries packaged system wide, but this may imply forking those thirdparty projects to implement proper libification, as they're often not active anymore (e.g. jpeg-compressor, or mikktspace, or hq*x).
If you want to check in depth, the provenance of all files is documented in thirdparty/README.md.
Thank you very much for this information. The thirdparty/README.md is shipped in our package. I'll propose to mirror in the openSUSE spec what you did for Fedora. Thanks for offering to use the result of your work! Your remarks from up- and downstream are hopefully a good reference for our distribution maintainers to not require more unbundling than what Godot offers as options in the build script. cunix -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
