[opensuse-packaging] source service, correct revision from SVN

Hi, I'm packaging fatsort in my OBS project [1]. Therefore I'm using a source service which generates a .tar from SVN. 0.9.15 sets me the correct main version, but regarding the revision, I receive a file called fatsort-0.9.15.rev247.tar.gz (notice the "rev"). If I don't use the versionprefix, the file is called fatsort-247.tar.gz Is there any possibility to ger rid of "rev", so that I receive a fatsort-0.9.15.247.tar.gz ? I've asked that on the English forums [2] a few weeks ago, maybe anybody here knows an answer. Thanks. [1] https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=fatsort&project=home%3AlOtz1... So far this service is not offering this. It is done on purpose, so that it is visible, what the official version number is and what the release tag. Is there a reason why you want to get rid of it ? bye adrian
Thanks.

The only reason is simply because the author's original fatsort version is 0.9.15.247 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/fatsort/files/). My package is published as fatsort-0.9.15.rev247-x.y-rpm which might be confusing. It's not a big issue and I can circumvent that by not using the source service :) Is there any way to get the complete major version from the source service? So just run the source service without editing version or versionprefix before to get the latest source and update the package? Or is it planned for future releases? That would be a great service :) Thanks. --- Lutz Thuns openSUSE member (lOtz1009) LXDE team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
