[opensuse-packaging] Source Services 0.0.1, no more writing SPEC files ?
Just a heads up ... and a call for help of course ;) http://lizards.opensuse.org/2009/08/03/source-services-001-no-more-writing- spec-files/ I would be really happy if packagers with dedicated areas, like perl moduls, java packages and so on join the attempt to write spec file code generators. As you can read there is some groundwork, like mapping link libraries to package names which can be reused. thanks adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Cool stuff. How would it work for packages that have optional dependencies? And for splitting files in various subpackages? In the end, it depends on the code generator. My qmake example would pick all of them currently.
And for splitting files in various subpackages?
It is listet as to be done. It might make sense to write some optional generic tool for that. but at least in the library case, it is better to have some concrete implementation for the qmake case to split away -devel. -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
