[opensuse-packaging] Renaming packages...
I'd like to rename the opensuse-manual_en package to opensuse-manuals_en (plural). Thus it would match sle[ds]-manuals_en. The package actually consists of several books and guides, thus it is probably to change it that way. If we would unify the package names, maintenance scripts could work more reliably. Is this the right list to announce such changes? -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

I dont think you have to announce that, simply place a Provides: opensuse-manual_en Obsoletes: opensuse-manual_en and the package manager will do the job just fine... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Yeah, but it might be necessary to change the patterns file accordingly. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Not if you make sure that updating the package works fine (means provides and obsoletes are correct). I applied needed changes to https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=opensuse-manual_en&project=home%3Akeichwa%3Abranches%3ADocumentation What I've to do now, please? Some kind of copypac and then 'sr'? -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

yes, just rename your package space via a copypac and sr it aftwards. And create a delete request for the old one. Actually, it should be also possible to keep maintaining it in the old named package space, but that might become confusing after some time. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

The _link does not seem to get updated by default. ATM, at the new location it looks as follows: <link project="Documentation" package="opensuse-manual_en" baserev="770e52c8fa1fb9ceeff6a65eb014fbd4"> <patches> <delete name="opensuse-manual_en.changes" /> <delete name="opensuse-manual_en.spec" /> </patches> </link> Shall I simply remove baseref and <patches> and change package to "opensuse-manuals_en"?

Yes, I'll better remove the old one in the case ASAP. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
