[opensuse-packaging] Factory submission overview page
Hi, Today I wrote a litte script to show the current status of factory package submissions. The result is http://www.suse.de/~coolo/factory-status.html - it's not yet updated regularly as I plan to integrated build failure status into it, so you guys have one place to look for things :) If you think this could be more useful, feel free to tell me about enhancements. There are various pending submitrequests to devel project and existing diffs in the devel project that aren't yet pushed. This may be wanted, but it shouldn't be for currently failing packages (which is why I want to integrate that too). Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Bug in script or there are two Factory package databases? The OBS says Neverball is a Factory package, but isn't in your list... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

If it doesn't have any pending change and builds fine, there is no reason to list it. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

I see... so now I have an improvement request, recursive search ;-) The devel project is games, that hasn't any pending change... but games has home:gekker:Factory as devel project, that has an updated version. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

devel projects shouldn't have devel project itself, that's insane. Is that a common use case? Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

In my experience, not really. Isn't the first case I see but I only saw half a dozen at most. But perhaps should? Factory has updated packages (comparing to the latest stable release) somehow "stable". Then there is the devel project, where people is supposed to experiment... and where these packages are "backported", compiled also for older distros. An user that adds the games repo does it because he wants the latests version of a game (sometimes that's a must, the game plays online and the latest version is required by the server), not because he wants to help testing experimental patches. The fact that a single project is at the same time the "devel project" and the "backport project" is difficult to understand. The thing is that at practice the devel projects aren't really "unstable", an user can use the games repo without worrying. So I have no problems continuing like we are, but seems to be a problem in the theory. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Well, there are some cases where it makes. I think Cristian is doing this to have always a end-user quality in games project (since it is also used for non-Factory). Another example is with packages containing in one source multiple spec files. There you have openSUSE:Factory/kernel-default -> openSUSE:Factory/kernel-source -> Kernel:Head/kernel-source for example. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
Coolo, I would appreciate if the SR ID could be shown on the submitreqs gDesklets Pending requests: Submit request to GNOME:Factory by coolo (fix build) Is great information for 'us' but not having to digg for the SR # would be great too (if possible. I assume it should not be to tricky). Besides that, only the format which is very plain, but it serves it's purpose Dominique PS: forgive me the top-post.. my GW client once more annoys me with not indenting the text!

I updated the script now to make the page a bit nicer - e.g. you can sort by devel project now. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Hi, I updated it today again, it will now default to show only build failures without pending submission to O:F - but you can click the others back on (btw, for those who didn't spot it: you can sort by maintainer or project in clicking the header) Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
