[opensuse-packaging] Missing packages for SLE_12 target
Some packages from SUSE:SLE-12:GA are missing for SLE_12 target. For example glew, wxWidgets-3_0 (nothing provides <package name>). Target: <repository name="SLE_12"> <path project="SUSE:SLE-12:GA" repository="standard"/> <arch>x86_64</arch> </repository> What is wrong? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Don't assume SLE12 is a copy of openSUSE 13.1/13.2. SLE has a lot less packages. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

And no 32bit arch tree, at least not for intel arch (x86_??). - Yamaban. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

SLE12 does not have a 32bit release. 64bit only. Thanks, Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Out of interest, is there a thought about PPC64 and ARMArch64 as offical release target for SLE (12 or later) AFAIK, there is only x86_64 ATM, but I could be wrong. - Yamaban -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

It usually has been the case that SLE was made available for ppc64, s390x and ia64. You just get to see it even less often than SLE-x86. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Let me add some more information: SLES 11 is released for x86, x86_64, s390x, ppc64, ia64. SLES 12 is released for x86_64, s390x, ppc64le. SLED 11 is released for x86, x86_64, SLED 12 is released for x86_64. (Note the Big Endian/Little Endian difference for Power) With regard to aarch64 - we are currently not planning to release it officially for SLE 12 GA, for future Service Packs it will depend on a few things. Never-the-less we made sure that submits of packages to SLE 12 during development did not break already building stuff for aarch64. I'm not sure how successfull we were with that, as dependencies and runtime issues may still occure, but we tried. We have a rule internally that new packages should work for all platforms. Exceptions are permitted, but they should be exceptions, not the rule. Especially in the desktop area this is sometimes problematic :( SLES itself has a 32bit runtime, but no 32bit-development. ppc64le is actually already imported, just we do not have any build hosts for it yet. Support for aarch64 is complete out of my personal scope as OBS admin atm :) -- Adrian Schroeter email: adrian@suse.de SUSE LINUX GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg Germany -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

I am seeing the same for e.g. libxkbcommon and some Qt5 packages... Cheers, Hrvoje

What is wrong? Hi For SLE 12 it's; Information for package wxWidgets-devel:
