[opensuse-packaging] Looking for volunteers to fix package dependencies
Hi, For the ISOs I make sure there is only software on it that can be installed, but for the factory tree there is no such autocheck, so I have to check this manually from time to time. Now I got a little suprise: tons of problems. So I need people to look through the list and either file deleterequests, or bugs. Hmm, why susedoc package requires such a special font? It's not even on any devel project (should be on M17N project first, for example). Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Well, openSUSE 11.2 got a new layout, see [1] for details. For this reason, I've searched for some fonts and found the mplus fonts. I integrated that in the susedoc package but unfortunately forgot to commit that package to Factory. Sorry for that. I created the respective submit request. OK, I see now it's in Document devel project. It's fine as long as you maintain it :) One concern is that M+ doesn't contain (yet) a full set of Japanese / Chinese letters but only a part of them although it's (already big as 12MB). So, in theory, desktops that have no Japanese language support set in YaST might show incomplete letters but empty boxes. But, it (hopefully) wouldn't be a big problem since usually the people who read Japanese set up the language via YaST beforehand... thanks, Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

It's because tla was dropped from FACTORY. The build of git-arch itself is done without tla. It requires tla only for run-time. Thus, even installing is allowed without tla. So, the possible choices are: - resurrect tla - disable git-arch stuff in git.spec only for 11.2 and later (add %if %suse_version check in spec file so that git-arch will be still built for 11.1 and older) - simply get rid of dependency of tla from git-arch; user will notice only when he really runs it :) Takashi -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Yes, but keep in mind that there is always more complicated than it seems. - Currently it only compiles in factory, and I have no idea how this extension works, my knowledge of gtk/cairo/whatever is almost nonexistent. - if you have the module installed, you wont be able to start apache with php5, problem is, we dont have support for SAPI-specific "conf.d" directories i.e /etc/php5/conf.d/cli only a global one. Im looking forward on your results. . -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

I accepted your sr's but there are bugs in them, I added you to as maintainer so you can fix them ;) php5-pecl-cairo %if %{?php_zend_api}0 Requires: php(zend-abi) = %{php_zend_api} Requires: php(api) = %{php_core_api} %else Requires: php5 >= 5.2.0 %endif Note the "else" "Requires:php5 >= 5.2.0", that's wrong, will install package in 5.3 as well.. and will not work due to different API/ABI. same in php5-gtk use %else %requires_eq php5 %endif I may add the definitions of php_zend_api and php_core_api in future security updates in old products to solve this annoyance, in the meanwhile, require the same version. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
