This one is expected. Is the reason the mplayer plugin is in its own subpackage (and because mplayer is too big of a dependency) If somehow the user is able to get a RPM providing /usr/bin/mplayer the package will be installable and fully functional. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Then recommend it? You can also supplement mplayer, which had the advantage that it would be installed when you have mplayer and qmmp installed. But I can also implement some whitelist in that check. It doesn't work at all without mplayer (and I don't know if the code handles the case of not finding it). So it's not a recommendation but a hard requirement. If that whitelist could be implemented I could keep the more correct dependency. But certainly it should have a Supplements: packageand().... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Coolo, Just out of curiosity: do we have a 'dependency graph' of what would be affected along those packages being dropped? I mean: if it's leaf packages, we probably care less (or don't have to be that afraid) to drop them as opposed to dropping 'python3' for example (which figures on your list). No, I have not - only for things on the DVD I can check why they are there. I could emulate a drop though in patching out the package from the meta data and run an installation check for the repo. This follows the same line of reasoning as for qmmp: two of the plugins need special binaries (sc. apt-get and qstat). If the user installs them from somewhere, these plugins work fine, but otherwise, there is no reason to install them. No, I take such things for 12.3. But the accept message for the submit request contains my decision, so if I say "only for factory", you're free to do maintrequests to 12.3:Update and let the maintenance team have another look :) Greetings, Stephan -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iEYEARECAAYFAlEHaNkACgkQwFSBhlBjoJb8/wCgwSAZQxGAI58bAg68B2SZJ8LR 2MIAn1YXK7xMDpG0zoYqdAyby9YFGNbe =gD1s -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, it needs fix as in ruby part of bindings swig stop providing global zypp methods. I just don't have much time to look at it. I think that noone use such bindings, so feel free to drop it and if someone is interested, then he must at first fix it. Josef
