[opensuse-packaging] Packaging/branching/build help
Hello, This package builds ok in this location[1]. When I branch the package to [2] the package shows 'unresolvable' How can I get the branched package to build. Thanks Glenn [1]builds ok package smart of project system:packagemanager https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=smart&project=system%3Apackagemanager https://build.opensuse.org/package/rawlog?arch=x86_64&package=smart&project=system%3Apackagemanager&repository=openSUSE_12.1 [2]branched location - unresolvable https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=smart&project=home%3Adoiggl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

You will need to either pull "deb" into your branch (and any other packages that may be required) as well, or add the originating project as "parent" to your meta data. I am not certain whether you can just edit the package meta data or if you have to change the project meta data. The data itsleve would be structured like this: <repository name="openSUSE_12.1"> <path project="system:packagemanager" repository="openSUSE_12.1"/> <arch>i586</arch> <arch>x86_64</arch> </repository> Now all the package built in the system:packagemanager project are available to resolve dependencies in your project, if this is applied at the project level. If you can apply this to the package meta data then obviously the packages in system:packagemanager project would only be available for dependency resolution when you build the specific package. But again, I am not certain whether this is possible at the package level.
