Hello all,
I prepared update for virtualbox-ose package (3.1.0), however when I install this updated package on 11.2 and I try to load kernel modules vboxnetflt or vboxnetadp from newly prepared subpackage virtualbox-ose-kmp-desktop i fail : modprobe vboxnetadp dmesg gives me then : vboxguest: export duplicate symbol RTMemExecFree (owned by vboxdrv)
if I type insmod /lib/modules/2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop/updates/vboxnetflt.ko module is loaded correctly
hints or tips are welcome ... see also : http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2009-12/msg00339.html
It looks like the conflicts are between host and guest components of virtualbox. Separating them into different packages may solve the problem. Btw, separating command line from gui tools may be valuable, too. Yes, this is because virtualboxguest is not supposed to be loaded on the host, as well vboxdrv in guest. I don't know if the proper fix is at the packaging or kernel level. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org

Probably both... The fix on the kernel level would be the task of the virtualbox developers. But maybe, they don't care, because they imply that host and guest only modules aren't installed together. Which leads to a solution on packaging level. Herbert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
