Dear fellow packagers, some time ago there was a discussion where i said that i'd love to drop tla (tom lord's arch, see http://www.gnu.org/software/gnu-arch/ ) - and somebody stepped up and said that it's the best package since sliced bread and it should never be dropped. So it stayed for a while. Well, that time has come again. The old tla package that is in factory is old and rotten, and i'm pretty sure that there's a host of security issues that are not discovered just because nobody uses it anymore. The newer tla package that i keep in my home: repo on OBS has some 64bit portability problems that need patching up, and i'm not really going to jump to fix them. Moreover, by now, with the raise of git and mercurial and bazaar and darcs and whatnot, nobody in their right mind would use arch anymore. So here's the deal. i will drop the following packages from Factory: tla tla-load-dirs tla-tools archway archzoom axp perl-Arch if any of you wants them, just say the word, i'll gladly move them to an appropriate place in OBS and hand the thing over. Otherwise, they're dead by next Friday. regards m. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
