It might come as a surprise but some people tend to sleep at night. :-) Michal Kubeček -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

All info is logged in a client window, I hope. My opinion is: if you stay in a channel, take a look at the window. Scroll it up. And I got some response in the channel (but not from DimStar). -- WBR Kyrill

Sure. However, when I come to work at 7:00 and see that someone (who is likely to be in the same timezone or a close one) pinged me at 1:00, I wouldn't really expect him to be still waiting for my response. I might pong back just in case but I wouldn't really blame someone who doesn't. After all, IRC's primary purpose is an interactive communication, if the latencies count in hours, e-mail is probably preferrable.
And I got some response in the channel (but not from DimStar).
Good for you. Michal Kubeček -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

It is not evident from your quote what you wrote, but do consider https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/No_naked_pings as well. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

(partially) my bad :) I hang in too many channels. Partially your fault :) For the record: if people use "DimStar: ping" (so, nick at the beginning) my client would have highlighted the channel with a direct notice to me... Anyway, we 'met' online by now and could resolve the question Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
