[opensuse-packaging] ldconfig in post
Hello, Is ldconfig still required? https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_Conventions_RPM_Macros https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Removing_ldconfig_scriptlets https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Scriptlets#Shared_Libraries AFAIK it is not needed anymore since rpm takes care using file triggers? Thanks in advance. Regards, Damian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org

openSUSE has not elected to implement the file triggers that Fedora and Mageia have for running ldconfig. You still need the ldconfig scriptlets. -- 真実はいつも一つ!/ Always, there's only one truth! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
oh I see. I tried finding that discussion but I got no results. Did it take place on the mailing list? On Sat, Nov 3, 2018 at 3:58 PM Neal Gompa <ngompa13@gmail.com> wrote:

As far as I'm aware, there have only been a few ad-hoc conversations about it. If we want to explore this, I can certainly bring my experience with implementing it in Fedora and OpenMandriva and leveraging this in Mageia to help make this a thing in openSUSE. -- 真実はいつも一つ!/ Always, there's only one truth! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
