Hello,
Is the mailinglist opensuse-packaging wrong place to ask?
Hi, The -packaging mailing list is mainly there to help each other out with packaging issues and questions. Once in a while a package sale happens (somebody giving up on maintaining a package, looking for somebody else to take it over). As for your initial question: opensuse-project might be a good place to go actually. Bare in mind, you need to know what it is what you would like to do? If it's around improving of existing code, then most likely this work should not happen in openSUSE, but with the respective upstream project. Having a huge base of patches to maintain won't work in the long run. If you have specific ideas on what you'd like to drive forward, then the 'just do it' methodology generally works rather well. A very good place to discuss the 'technical' future of the distribution is also opensuse-factory@ mailing list: Factory is always the development tank of the upcoming release (so currently version 12.1 is being forged there). Hope this helps you to get you started, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
