With version 0.5.5, mod-tidy is ready for Apache2.2 (apr 1.x). I have patched mod_tidy on January 26th to work with apr 1.x., as you can see in the changelog on http://mod-tidy.sourceforge.net/changelog or on http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=391113&group_id=142791. This patch works for me (OpenSUSE 10.0/Apache 2.2), and as far as I know, this patch also works for other users as http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/httpd-dev/200601.mbox/date?2 states.
