4. Common advise ------------------------- - when fixing package, try to keep style convention set by author of this package (if it is still any) e.g. some one write bugzilla number as "#234345", [#33453453], (#2342342) Why not just rewrite the spec and change the patch filenames so they match the conventions ?
rewriting the spec file is OK when taking over maintainership for a package, but when you fix a package that is normally maintained by someone else, it's better to be as little intrusive as possible, or ask the regular maintainer if it is OK with him that you turn his package upside down.
Of course, didn't mean to say the opposite ;) But complying with the guidelines isn't a triviality either :) cheers - -- -o) Pascal Bleser http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/ /\\ <pascal.bleser@skynet.be> <guru@unixtech.be> _\_v The more things change, the more they stay insane. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEcjU9r3NMWliFcXcRAilHAJ0UYh3ezCUSOfr1hLaQ9H4r5JPLdACgqAhF Jl9HZtHwJxDCponKLqqlJoY= =4qan -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
