network during installation
Hi, I would like to make some changes with network during installation. First when we need network during installation: - when use remote UI (ssh, ssh -Y, vnc) - when use remote installation source (nfs, http, smb, ftp) - when use network storage (iSCSI) Now: Decission whether start network is done in Linuxrc, but YaST do it again (and there are some cases when they do it with different results). Plan: So YaST will believe Linuxrc - if network is currently running, write its configuration to installed system (network_finish.ycp->create_interface). Now: For some cases network is run from initscript, for some cases from yast client Plan:After reboot (SecondStage or FirstBoot) if initscript will find any network configuration (/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-*) just start network (S07-medium, inst_netsetup.ycp completly dropped) What is purpose of that: Network during installation will be determinable, without much code on many places doing same thing. Ease to understand, easy to debug. Only change what I know when upgrade, network will start (with rcSuSEfirewall2 reload so IMHO nothing bad) because there will be old network configuration. What do you think about this? Might there be any problem in autoyast or firstboot or somewhere?
