Hi, I managed to get some noise out of my computer by following the instructions on sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/chofman_vortex.html. Now the MP3player and CD-player produce some nice sounds. However, "normal" sound as well as midi do'nt work. Anyone any suggestions how to achieve this? Thanks for the support, René.

Rene: Regards and sympathy: I got midi to work by "substituting?" TIMIDITY for ALSA ... course then my CD wouldn't play a damned thing ...?!?! I went back to ALSA, and again have not yet got the midi going. Sound in SusE_7.3 at least is a damned black art ... Ray Hartman
