Hi, Could we turn on --dbus option for jack daemon in Factory builds ? : see osc cat openSUSE:Factory jack jack.spec | less and check the %define wdbus is always 0 I think for users would by more comfortable, if jack use dbus feature and can suspend pulseaudio itself or did I missed something ? thanks michal -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org

thanks michal I tested jack with dbus and classic on rosegarden and it causes lag, don't know yet if the new version is better. All the multimedia:apps use the classic interface and don't work with the dbus one. Kde can use jack with phonon as a front end but I really don't know what good that is. So as all existing apps use jack classic and not jack dbus will remain turned off. I've used jack with classic and dbus for a while and it shows up in phonon, clicking test gives sound after a couple of seconds, if there is a reason for using jack as a kde frontend I will make a separate jack-dbus package. There might even be a strange bug caused by jack dbus, fire fox and thunderbird crash with pulse audio when the mouse is right clicked. bnc#690572 I'm the only person to have the bug and I'm most probably the only person with jack dbus and classic running.
