First time on this list! I have a question about Amarok 2 and KDE4.# in openSuSE 11.2. It was playing along just fine one day and then quit. since then NO sound. I have a large group of mp3s that have woorked for a long time in a directory /usr/share/Music/. Amarok is very knowledgeable about the Music directory. Almost all of them are selectable in the play list. I don't think this is a amarok problem but more of a KDE problem. In the passed permissions on /dev/dsp and mixer needed to be set to 666 and the user added to /etc/groups/audio. All of this was done but no sound. "strace -o" showed dbus as a possible problem source. Please note that all related things have been rpm -e and then yast2 reinstalled, SuSEconfig and ldconfig were run. Still no sound. Anyone have an idea? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org

Hi Donn, first try if you can hear something and post the result pls: # aplay /usr/share/sounds/startup3.wav Then we will proceed further, maybe open a bug in bugzilla.novell.com. I have it running the sound now. Solution was to remove /home/liloleme/.kde4.. Something in there must have gotten set incorrectly. On 05/14/2009 10:14 PM, Donn Washburn wrote:
