I'm in the process of moving from openSUSE 11.3 to 11.4. However, I've noticed that grip does not seem to be available for 11.4. Does anyone know where I may obtain an x86_64 RPM of it? I know that it apparently has not been maintained in some time. Interestingly, the openSUSE build service status shows that it has successfully been built for 11.4. However, the version of that build, 3.2.0-312.1, is an earlier revision than the version I have installed under 11.3: 3.2.0-314.2. Apparently, that latter version is an update build? If need be, I can attempt to build from source (using the 11.3 sources, since I haven't (yet) been able to locate any 11.4 sources of the latest rev). If grip is not practical to use under 11.4, can anyone recommend a viable replacement? I haven't really kept up with this end of things in a while. The RPM release number must not necessary be higher or lower if these are not the main repositories. The version is the same. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org

Cool! Thanks. BTW, how do your personal repo and the openSUSE multimedia:apps repo relate to the Packman repo WRT multimedia apps? Is it safe to mix-n-match from at least the latter two? What is the intent of multimedia:apps as related to the Packman multimedia repo(s)? I'm also considering using the tumbleweed repo for updates since I don't like to perform full system upgrades as often as is usually necessary. I use a path to multimedia:libs in my home:plater repo as it's primarily for multimedia work, Packman has a path to the openSUSE Update repo. So my package builds against the same as multimedia:apps does. Packman is for anything that openSUSE can't provide due to patents and licenses. I'm pushing to have the original cdrtools (also in home:plater) in Packman but I have to allow it to exist with wodim. Wodim has a package called "cdrkit-cdrtools-compat" which provides links that are named the same as cdrtools's cdda2wav, cdrecord and mkisofs. I'm also preparing an ffmpeg enabled blender for Packman but I'm still fixing a few problems that have come to light since collaborating with a Fedora packager, we're working on an "undefined-non-weak-symbol" in one of the openCOLLADA libs. We (multimedia) are pushing multimedia updates that are in factory to tumbleweed. Tumbleweed takes packages from factory and builds them in a release environment so they should be the same as updates. I see that Packman has a tumbleweed repo as well now. I've always had the latest packages in my system, it's the only way to test, either from my home or from multimedia. I don't think I have a single stock 11.4 package on my system that I maintain and all this is mixed with Packman as well. If I pick up a problem I track it down to the offending package and fix it, this way bugs get fixed before they're noticed. Unfortunately I can't do everything at once although I try sometimes. I haven't tested grip yet, I've never used it and I'm hoping you will. Some of the patches I added add new features they will all be noted in the changes file. thanks jdd I joined the testing team when it started and then was made multimedia maintainer and never had a chance to use the dashboard that is used and I've just checked and it's called "Testopia". If you join the core testing team, I should look in on a meeting and resign, you will have the testing dashboard added to your bugzilla pages, it's a bit complicated to use. So you would have to join the "Core testing team" coordinated by Holger Sickenberg holgi@opensuse.org. You should join the testing mailing list and introduce yourself I'll recommend you as a replacement, if you like, when I resign due to my time being taken up by bug fixing and packaging.
