Making DVDs for standalone player use
Is there a FAQ around for the subject of burning generally? I have some mpg and mp4 files I want to put on a DVD so that I can watch them on my TV. I put some on a DVD with K3B, but none of my players could identify the disk. My PC screen is much too small for watching music videos. Even Youtube videos are much too small, and would be much better if I could get them onto my TV, which is too far away from my PC to connect. Probably you put your mpg mpg4 files in a DVD-data disk, which is not the same as a DVD-disk. A DVD-data disk is not readable on most DVD-players. Solutions: buy a cheap DVD-player which can play MEPG4 or DivX. Or connect your PC to the TV if your videocard and TV have that option. -- Johan Middendorp mobiel: +31 6 260 42 557 fax: +31 84 735 6952 This mail is coming from a Linux box... -------- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org

On the K3B initial screen you need to select "Further actions" and select "New Video Project" from the drop down list. Then add your Mpeg files to VIDEO_TS sub-directory. Or use a DVD authoring program like KDVDCreator or qdvdauthor. -- Regards, Graham Smith -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org

I find DeVeDe to be one of the best (intuitive, powerful, no crash) apps for doing what you describe: http://www.rastersoft.com/programas/devede.html -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org
