Exactly, I think this is the problem. I have a couple of links from the spanish list. Maybe you can take a look at them:

/usr/src/linux-2.4.21-166/Documentation/video4linux/bttv/Cards mentions your chip. http://bytesex.org/cx88

That means, I have to update the driver to this cx88 driver, doensn't it? I'll check it out if I have time.
