available avidemux version

No posts in the archive for this group since September? Do I need to ask on another list? Apparently due to h264, to do what I want to do I need 2.6.1. Regardless of OS version, only 2.5.6 shows up on software.opensuse.org/search. Tools that can't do the now widely used MPEG4 and H264, like 2.5.6, are obsolete, so I was thinking in terms of getting the obsolete version on the mirrors updated, and saving others the agony of the obstacles I've hit trying to be able to move transport stream files into file types that most media players are happy to play, and strip commercials, leaders and trailers to reduce file size and playback time. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." What your camcorder can or can't do has nothing to do with what I need. 2.5.6 crashes when I try to open some MPEG4/H.264 files, does nothing useful with others, which http://www.avidemux.org/smf/index.php/topic,11813.msg61672.html#msg61672 seems to explain. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." you asked "how can I get the version", the answer seems obvious
bur avidemux 2.5.6 (probably from packman) opens without proble MTS files from my high end HD camcorder.

my camcorder use h264 and works with avidemux you should be more specific about what one do. obviously no tools can do everything. Give somewhere a bit of problematic video for us to try it jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+owner@opensuse.org

Not to me. Maybe you can compile. I can't. I depend on Packman, standard repos, and where feasible, rpm packages in home repos to provide what I need.

I already told some of what I want: 1-remove commercials, leaders and trailers 2-convert to readily playable, FFable, REWable, skipable, pausable container like MKV. This is because I have multiple models of AZBox player/recorders that only play .ts files they wrote but not what the others wrote, yet will play common A/V files of various container types. I need to convert to a format playable by all so that I need not depend on the original creator to be able to play it years later after its death, sale or other non-availability. also 3-combine recordings that were split by recorder into multiple .ts files of no more than 4GB each for saving to VFAT. Simple catting produces a glitch at the splice by the one STB that can actually play such a file recorded by another.
obviously no tools can do everything. Give somewhere a bit of problematic video for us to try it
http://fm.no-ip.com/Big/bbt22020120824.ts is the smallest I could find, about 29 minutes, 2.1GB. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." the problem is not what you want, most people wants the same, but what kind of video. I have no problem with mine

this is an indication that some of these files may not be standard

as long as I can see, there is no way to correct that, I have the same problem, usually one or two lost frames. Pretty ugly :-(

I try it but it's *very* long. I'm out of house and my present computer is 5 years old, so don't sure I may edit anything so long. 10s wouls be enough main problem, without known solution, of your problem is that when recordinf air born video, some frames are lost and this break sound sync. For SD video, ProjectX fixes the problem, but for HD video nothing is really good. will try something tomorrow :-) jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+owner@opensuse.org

well, we are not yet tomorrow, but such files are streams, so I could cut the dl after some seconds and get an usable file the beginning is only the (? "mire" in french), I could load it in avidemux (stock), extract a jpg http://cjoint.com/13fe/CBrxwg9ELQl.htm and 8s of video: http://cjoint.com/13fe/CBrxw5diNh6.htm so it works, mostly at least jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+owner@opensuse.org
