dvd::rip : what codecs to make a CD viewable on Windows too?
Hi everybody I had one of my short vhs videos dubbed to a cd. Then I ripped it with dvd::rip to harddisc and made an avi from it (see details below) and burned the avi to a cd. I can play the avi on my Suse 10.0 with every program (Mplayer, Xine, Kaffeine) without any problem, but Windows wouldn't play it (not with Mediaplayer nor Quicktime nor a PowerDvd demo version I've downloaded after googling...). It says something like "codec missing" and "can't find appropriate codec to download". Well, I can't imagine why, but there are still a lot of people using Windows instead of an operating system for some reasons and so I should be able to produce a CD that even MS-users can view. Can anybody help me and tell me what codes I have to use so that I can make a CD (not a DVD) from it that even Win-users can play? Any help is highly appreciated!
